Narendra Modi is known to rise from humble beginnings to become the Prime Minister of India.







Who Is Narendra Modi?

Let us tell all of you that Narendra Modi grew up in the Indian city of Vadnagar, the son of a street trader. He entered politics as a youth and rose rapidly through the ranks of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, a Hindu national political party. In 1987, Modi joined the mainstream Bharatiya Janata Party, eventually becoming the National Secretary. Elected Prime Minister of India in 2014, he regained the post five years later. 


Early Life Of Narendra Modi 

Narendra Modi was born on 17 September 1950 in Vadnagar, a small town in northern Gujarat, India. His father was a street trader who struggled to support the family. Young Narendra Modi and his brother sold tea near a bus terminal to help. Although an average student in school, Modi spent hours in the library and is known to be a strong debater. In his early teens, he joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, the student wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, a Hindu nationalist political party.


Narendra Modi had an arranged marriage at the age of 18 but spent very little time with his bride. The two eventually parted ways, with Modi claiming to be single for a while.







Early Political Career

Narendra Modi devoted his life to politics in Gujarat, joined RSS in 1971. During the political crisis of 1975-1977, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi declared a state of emergency, banned political organizations Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Modi went underground and wrote a book, Sangharsh Ma Gujarat which chronicles his experiences as a political fugitive. He obtained a degree in Political Science from Delhi University in 1978, and completed his master's work at Gujarat University in 1983.

In 1987, Narendra Modi joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which stood for Hindu nationalism. His rise through the ranks was rapid, as he chose wisely to pursue his career. He promoted privatization of businesses, small government Hindu values.

In 1995, Narendra Modi was elected BJP's national secretary, a position he successfully helped resolve internal leadership disputes that led the BJP to victory in 1998.

PM Modi Elected as a Prime Minister

In June 2013, Narendra Modi was chosen to lead the BJP's 2014 election campaign in the Lok Sabha. Narendra Modi campaigned hard, portraying himself as a candidate capable of turning India's economy around, while his critics portrayed him as a controversial and divisive figure.


In May 2014, Modi his party won 282 out of 534 seats in the Lok Sabha. The victory dealt a crushing defeat to the Indian National Congress, which had controlled the country's politics for the past 60 years, and sent the message that the citizens of India were behind an agenda that moved from a secular, socialist state to a more capitalist one. The inclination of the economy with Hindu nationalism at its core.


On 26 May 2014, Modi was sworn in as the 14th Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi encouraged foreign businesses to invest in India.








 Narendra Modi has removed various rules - permits inspections - so that business can grow more easily. He has reduced spending on social welfare programs and encouraged the privatization of healthcare, although he has formulated a policy on universal healthcare for citizens with serious illnesses. In 2014, he launched a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which focused on cleanliness and the construction of millions of toilets in rural areas.

Their change policies have become lax, especially when those policies hinder industrial growth. They have removed restrictions to protect the environment and are more open to the use of genetically modified crops, despite protests from farmers in India.

Under his rule, PM Modi has centralized his power to a greater extent than in the previous administration.  


Global Recognition 

In 2016, PM Modi won Pathak's election as Time's Person of the Year. In previous years, he had topped both Time and Forbes magazine as one of the most influential political figures in the world. With high favorability ratings among Indian voters, Modi has enjoyed a reputation for actively engaging citizens through social media and encouraging his own administration to be active on his platforms.


 Elections and Protests

After a resounding victory for the BJP, PM Modi was sworn in for his second term as the Prime Minister on 30 May 2019.

In August, when PM Modi was according to his intention, then the controversy was increasing. Abolish Article 370, a constitutional provision that granted autonomy to the state of Jammu and Kashmir since 1949. In the midst of a tumultuous communication in the region, the Parliament of India voted to re-create the Muslim-majority state as a union territory.

Meanwhile a new problem was brewing with the spread of the coronavirus from its starting point in central China. Following a series of decrees designed to curb the outbreak in India, in late March 2020, PM Modi ordered all 1.3 billion people in the country to stay at home for the next three weeks.
